Trying to get out Sunday for the inaugural A300 dive.
Trying to put the dome shade on a 6" loaner dome, diameter of the shade is designed slightly smaller than the dome. I see where I am to use the hex tool to tighten the shade, but I can't get the full circumference of the shade over the dome. Is there a special technique I should be using?
TIA
Chris
Hi Chris,
For my 8" shade, I just loosened the set screws all-round, then slid it over the port. The set screws tighten down onto the metal part of the dome. Do them each a little bit at a time until the shade is snug on the dome.
If that doesn't work, then something is strange. Perhaps the dome back is larger than normal?
I made a dive or 5 without my shade and as long as you're not in shallow bright sun, you will be ok, if it comes to that.
Cheers
James
thanks james, appears that there is something wrong with the design of the dome/shade combo, since there is no way that this dome shade would slide down over the dome. It would take some considerable force and bending of the shade, and even then I doubt it would work (which I think I'll not do.....)
I was planning on doing some shallow sunny dives with it, and a shade would relaly be conducive given the topside area of where I am diving, for protection. Might just use the macro port for this first dive.
