D70 Sequential Shooting Question

  1. D70 Sequential Shooting Question

I shoot my 5050 in sequential mode at about 1.3 frames per second in JPG SHQ format because I often get great second and third shots when the subject is moving. One of the reasons this technique works for me is that my DS 125 strobes are just able to fire at this rate. If I try to shoot faster with High Speed sequential at about 3.3 frames per second, the strobes cannot keep up.

    Questions re the D70.

    1. Does the D70 have a sequential speed for RAW that is in the range of one shot per second?

    2. Assuming RAW and a separate shutter release for each shot, can I shoot at about 1 shot a second assuming I am not using the camera flash i.e. will the camera buffer the shot and let me continue shooting, or must I wait more than a second or two for the camera to do it's thing?

  2. I think the sequential shooting mode is too fast on the D70.

But you can pull the trigger on the camera as fast as your fingers can move, and it will continue to keep up. Even in RAW mode.

  3. Peter, you won't be waiting on the camera.....haven't tested underwater yet with strobes, but the DS-125's can usually keep up at 1/2 power

  4. Fantastic! And thanks, Jim and Karl! I can hardly wait!
