I am looking to upgrade focus light for Nikon 7000 dslr to shoot macro in tropical waters.
Video is secondary to still shooting.
What would be recommended light lumen strength?
Thanks in advance for comment.

My preference for shooting macro is a maximum beam angle of 30 degrees so the lights don't light up too much dirt in the surrounding water and are better for isolating the subject. For macro I changed from 2 x Keldan Luna 4x to 2 x FIX Neo 1000 DX SW and I've been pretty happy with them. The output is variable in small increments. I was given a snoot kit to test with them that is probably generally available too now. I got the all-black ones to minimize any reflections. The FIX Neo 1500 DX SWR and FIX Neo 2000 DX SWR would be other options with more output at the wider 100 degree angle but the 2000 has a 7500 color temp rating which is very much on the blue side of white. "R" means you have a red option. Here's a chart I made a few months ago when I was researching (and confused by all the models):

Although I think it's overpriced and doesn't come with the same ability to vary light output power in small increments as the FIX Neo lights, you may also wish to consider the Light and Motion Sola 1200 video, which can be varied between a 60 degree(1200lumen, 600lumen, 300 lumen) and 12 degree (500 lumen, 250lumen, 125 lumen) beam.
