  1. First 300D shots/A300 housing......

Having some alignment issues so I was stuck with one exposure for the dive  And one strobe died at the start of the day, so all single strobe... However, it worked out OK in many shots..... I have not done any PS processing on these pics, too tired last nite to do anything but resize. So this is straight outta Canon

Garibaldi's were nesting so I concentrated on them. they are actually fun to shoot with this camera... they used to be frustrating, only sheer luck and timing would get a nice face shot (shutter lag), here I could wait for them to open their mouth 8)

But, comments re: D70 vs. 300D aside, I LOVE DSLRS!!!!! no shutter lag, fast auto focus, I even like composing thru the viewfinder (odd that).....Rig with macro port is slightly negative

all taken with Canon 50 mm macro, single YS90 strobe

They're a little darker here on my work screen than at home

  2. Outstanding for your first outing with the rig Chris. These are great! Glad to hear that you like the transition to the dSLR.

  3. Welcome to the world of <300 millisecond shutter lag... very nice stuff, get that second strobe going and you'll be in metaphorical gravy...

  4. Great work Chris. They're some of the most expressive fish I've seen.

You've almost convinced me to buy the 50mm macro after all.
