If you are looking for web design software, I can recommend EverWeb.

I moved from iWeb some years ago to EverWeb. I found it pretty easy to set up (and I'm no webeesta) and versatile. I then used the website registration company I used to buy my web address as the host - although EverWeb will do that for you.

The cost for me is around £50 a year for the hosting and web address registration.

The technical side of setting this up was pretty straight-forward; the design took me longer but that is, of courses, all about personal preferences and ideas. The EverWeb software is pretty intuitive and there are good help texts and explanations. Really not difficult and, I thought/think, pretty effective.

(Sorry Anders, I don't want to hijack your post!)
