An Alex Mustard Moment...

<In the words of that famous TV beer commercial>

Here's to you, Mr. Capture Behavior in a Photograph Man!

I actually looked around to see if you happened to be around when this Mantis shrimp was attacking and eating the Arrow crab. Lots of (new) plankton out yesterday too. A great day of diving indeed.

thats incredible .... I've been seeing loads of mantis shrimp out and about recently too .. though havent quite seen that yet ... and doubt i'd have a working camera in my hands if i did anyway !

Wow. Very cool shot.

I really love the way the characteristic purple tipped pincers of the arrow crab are still sticking out of the mouth in both images.

My only repost is this Mantis shrimp collecting grapes to make wine!

What incredible action photos - great shots that show behavior as well. My mouse finger is just itching to hit the "save image as" button & send them to every crusty person I know. And that mantis shrimp is clearly the mother of all mantis shrimp!

Leslie,

Feel free to send my images to those crusty people if you'd like.

thanks, Laz. I'm sure the pics will be greatly appreciated.
