Wide Angle Lens for DX5000 Housing

  1. Wide Angle Lens for DX5000 Housing

    I am using a coolpix 5000 with a Sea & Sea housing.

I want to get a wide angle lens and understand that the 15mm wide conversion lens for the Sea&Sea MMIII can be used on my housing.

Does anyone have any experience with this set-up ? What is the quality of the lens ? Will it work fine with my coolpix or will I suffer vignetting or other issues ?

    Thanks very much in advance

  2. Hi,

Sea and Sea makes a special dome port for this setup, so that you can use Nikon's WC-E68 converter (~19mm) or even the Nikon fisheye lens. Ask your Sea and Sea dealer about it.

This may cost a bit more, but the results will be MUCH better than using a conversion lens. Besides, I don't think the MMIII 15mm converter will work at all with the DX5000 housing, but I could be wrong.

    Cheers

    James

  3. This is interesting - When I spoke to my Sea& Sea dealer a couple of months ago he said that he was not sure if the dome port would support the WC-E68 lens; he thought that only the fisheye would work. May I ask if you have seen this config working yourself WC-E68 with Sea&Sea dome port ?

    Cheers
