I am currently using two Ikelite 161 as my strobes. Sometimes these so big and hard to get into the right spot for macro. I was wondering if anyone had any opinion on other strobes that might be better than the 161s.

I use the Inon S-2000. Strobes don't get any more compact than these! They work beautifully via TTL for macro. Here are two quick Flickr albums, one for the 12-50mm lens and another for the 60mm lens, all macro shots were done using TTL:
