xD vs CF

hi folks

im wondering whether i should get an xD card or Compact Flash for my new c5050

which is faster?

i understand that CF cards have ratings like 52x etc

do xD cards have this to?

In the underwater digital camera crowd, the CF card reigns supreme. xD cards are more popular w/ folks who use pocket-sized cameras, as the cards are physically smaller.

Microdrives, one of the most economical media are CF Type II cards. These are compatible w/ the 5050. Other good cards are Sandisk and Lexar, IMO.

The "x" rating just describes the number of megabytes per second that the card can read or write. So sure, xD cards can have an "x" rating.

If you look at CF card speed tests for the 5050 on the wrotniak website, this may help you decide which one is the best buy.
