After about a year of ummmming and arrrrring I finally started an online gallery for my snapshots.
Having been given a week sick leave - I was bored as hell sat in the appartment so I decided to give it a go, by the end of the week I had a "working version" (I can tell you - frustration reigned and my lack of computer knowledge had become glaringly apparant, esp with problems between gallery and my ISP, this was not an easy task and I still have a few glitches).
Now comes the hard part of scanning and prepping all my old slides and new files for inclusion - shudder the thought, I need a rest.

Beautiful start Paul You have some very, very nice photos
How many are with the D70?
Exif info would be nice....in your spare time
Karl
Cheers, not too many with the D70 yet, only 7 of the ones posted!
Damn! Why is it that every time I redo my site I end up looking at someone's site who has some artistic talent?!?!?!?
Beautiful images and a really nice site layout...
Tom
Great start Paul.
Thanks for the reminder that I need to get my old stuff uploaded as well! So little time...
Great Site, as Tom said you have a real talent.
Very beautiful site !
Congratulations
Thanks for all the kind words - I am now concentrating on trying to "fill up" the database side (gallery) with images that are technically correct but not so pleasing to my eye.
If anyone attempts to use gallery pls remember NOT to use the auto watermark feature - it seriously reduces the image quality and I have just had to delete 50 pics, watermark them manually and load them all up again. The gallery literature is also very difficult to follow and full of technical jargon I simply did not understand. I think when they release version 2 which will be much more customizable with HTML (I am comfortable with HTML) it will be the biz.
Wow...
I just posted my stuff...very weak in comparison to yours!!
wow .. you made gallery look and work like that .... I should spend some more time making it work a little bit better then ...
hmmm
I have just been going through a big overhaul of my website, primarily to test the beta release of gallery 2, which they (http://gallery.menalto.com/index.php) have done a very nice job on. Since the beta release (I used) a further beta update has come out as well as gall 1.5 but I am too afraid to upload at the moment as everything seems to be working fine at the moment with my current test (I am chicken).
EXIF should be available soon for the digital shots too, the gallery people are enabling this as a mod shortly.
I have dropped the black backgrounds throughout the site and gone for grey and simplified the look a lot. All I need now is for Nexus to deliver the new housing and I should be able to start attempting some new photo entries.
You have some very, very nice photos
