Morning Herb -
I like those colors! Great photos and composition. The second photo is nice...see that bottom row of teeth.... Have you dumped the Oly 5050 completetly?

Thanks. Yes. The 5050 has been sold to Rand.
Great shots Herb!
The first 3 look a little soft to me for some reason. I can't imagine the Sigma 105 is that soft... Are you not sharpening the jpegs for some reason?
I sharped the image in the C1 raw converter and was too lazy to further sharpen after the downsampling. Is it really noticeable?
Well, yeah. I actually asked because I am assuming your 105 is also a Sigma, and I have been having conversations lately about the comparison between the Nikon and Sigma lenses.
With that said, I have a pro GFX quality monitor, and am used to much sharper images from my Nikon 105. However, as I keep sharpening on the S2 turned off, I have to sharpen in Photoshop before saving to JPEG, or everything will look soft.
The fourth shot does look sharper to me, so I am not sure why there would be a difference.
As an aside, for what it is worth, I always sharpen twice. Once on import (RAW convertor to 16 bit TIF) and then after any and all photoshop work is done, when saving as a PSD. If I am resizing for web, I have found that a third sharpening can be required to keep the same look and feel in the smaller image.
