Seacam 5DM2 use with Seacam Wideport, Fisheye

4 posts
  1. Hi,

I own a Secam housing for the Canon 5D Mark2.

For travelling I want to reduce the baggage weight.

I am now wondering, if it is ok to use the Seacam Wide Port with the Canon 17-40mm and also with the Tokina 10-17mm Fisheye.

    Does this work well?

Does somebody work with this combination?

    Thanks in advance

    Armin

  2. Hi Armin,

It should be fine with the Tokina 10-17mm, although the lens is not a full frame lens.

Sadly the 17-40mm will probably be "challenged." The bigger the dome the better with rectilinear lenses.

Of course, if you are shooting big animal sin blue water, the corner sharpness will not make a huge difference :)

  3. I use the Wideport quite a bit with the Canon 8-15mm lens for shooting at very close range (to zero distance from the port) and water too shallow for a larger diameter port. Submerging even the Wideport can be challenging. It is best to use smaller apertures.

  4. thanks for the answers. At Wideangle always it is important to use small apertures for sharper corners.

But I am interested in Corner sharpness with the Tokina 10-17 at 15-17mm or the Canon/Sigma 15mm.
