Compact camera as second camera

  1. Compact camera as second camera

i purchased an Oly c5050 and a Oly Stylus 300 as a compact camera.

the Stylus seemed like a good choice for a compact portable camera with its "weather proof" construction and $200 price tag.

the idea is that i'd have a camera i could take canoeing, bicycling etc. that could withstand the elements and wouldnt be a major loss if damaged.

however, im pretty dissapointed with the quality of the pictures.

    any suggestions on an alternative?

is it a bad idea to bring a camera in an underwater housing on a canoe trip where it might get hot? i heard the gas expanding in the case can cause it to warp.

  2. The Canon Digital Elphs take fabulous photos.

    Cheers

    James

  3. maybe i can keep the camera in a dry box.

i would think it would have similar issues as the housing though.

less of a loss if it warps though
