  1. Oly 8080 and manual flash use/triggering

    Hi,

Has anybody figured how to get low voltage triggering manual flash guns to operate with the Oly 8080 ?

The camera does not has a PC socket, so one is left to use the regular sliding flash socket and wire up the central pin & side(s). Polarity is important, and when correct, in my case the camera triggers the flash the once, and then never again (flash recharges ok). Switching the gun off and then back on, gets the gun fired for the next shot ok ... it's a work around BUT very tedious.

In my case I'm using my old trusted Subatec S100 with an EO lead. The lead voltage is approx 5V.

Anyboby know of a workaround ? (camera set on manual).

    Thanks ... :D

  2. Try a resitor of 10kOhm in series with the central pin...

  3. Nope, adding a 10K resistor in series does not help (in fact it stops the gun firing completely) - btw, how would the resistor have helped ?

Only work around I've found so far is to disconnect the gun from the camera or swith off the gun then back on after each shot ... the gun fires fine then => very strange ... :D
