Any reason you can't or shouldn't use a waterproof housing on land?

  1. I'm going to be shooting around water and in water, is there any reason I ever need to take it out of the case? Just trying to prevent something horrible

  2. Hopefully not!

It's always worth shooting a couple of test shots once you have the camera setup in the housing - and before you get in the water. Its scary how easy it is to, eg, leave the lens cap in place, not connect the flash hot shoe etc etc. A test shot should highlight for any problems before the camera (or should I say the housing) gets wet.

And then once you are in the water, God forbid that you have to take it out the housing.

Once out the water most people advise a good rinse - then be careful how you open the housing so spots of water don't flick into it and on to the camera.

Hopefully you should only have to open the housing to download your shots, change the battery - then admire your work.

  3. That's great to hear. Thanks for the tips!

I'll plan on leaving it in the housing full time.

    So excited for this!
