I have been using the underwater housing from Sony for a few months. I am now interested in the colour correction filter. I see it is available at Amazon for a reasonable price of $68.
Does a colour correction filter reduce the light level much and does it improve the picture and video qualities. I am diving mostly in Lake Ontario at 30 - 60' where the light level is not great.
I realize that you can correct pictures using Photo Shop but I would prefer not to have to adjust pictures and I don't have a tool for videos.
i use one on my sony P7. the pics come out with more red than without the filter, but i still have put everthing through ps.

Does a color correction filter reduce the light level much?
Should I expect a one or two stop change in light level?
Thanks

Yes, but with a consumer digicam, you won't even miss the stop of light that doesn't make it to the sensor. Besides, it's not light you want to hit the sensor in the first place - that's the whole point of the filter. It keeps the sensor from being overwhelmed with green-blue light.
Your camera will have no problem autofocusing and getting good shots w/ the filter in place.
Cheers
James

Hi,
I'm thinking of getting a T1 with housing and filter, have you got an example photo using your setup? Also, do you/can you use a strobe of some sort?
