Nauticam TTL Converter Manual Mode

2 posts
  1. I recently bought an Nauticam D850 housing with the additional black TTL converter (26308) - investment into the future. Now I want to use them with my current Seam 60D flashes and as I understood the TTL board don't recognizes their TTL mode (at least only S&S and Inon flashes are mentioned to be compatible), I want to use the Seams in manual mode. How can I adapt TTL board to manual in an easy way? Or does it make more sense (as long as I use the Seams) to use the original green board?

  2. Hello Sascha,

    Nauticam TTL-Converter #26308 supports TTL of following strobes: Inon Z-330, Z-240; Sea&Sea YS-D1, YS-D2, YS-250; Ikelite DS-161, DS-160.

You can switch to manual mode using TTL-Converter built-in feature (camera menu setting), or using strobe dial switches, or both together.

All modes are described in User's Manual of #26308 product. Do you have it? If not, I can help you, send by e-mail.

Of course, you also can use Nauticam Manual Trigger (green color board) for shooting just in M mode of strobes.

Seacam Seaflash-60D (and other modern Seacam strobes) has TTL circuit inside the strobe. For usage 2 strobes in TTL in a pair via electric cable, Seacam housings have special communication electronic board inside the housing. Seacam TTL strobes cannot work in a pair by electric cable without that communication board.

If you want to use any Seacam strobes in TTL with Nauticam housing (by electric cable), you can order UW Technics extended version TTL-Converter for Nauticam housings, which also has communication electronics onboard for pair of Seacam strobes support.

Seaflash-60D as new strobe in Seacam line, also has optical TTL input. You can try it with your TTL-Converter by fiber optical cables (at Z-240 switch position), maybe TTL lighting will be acceptable, who knows, but it has not been tested by anyone yet.
