Editing a Classified Post

  1. Dear Wetpixel community,

I am getting a lot of PM and posts about editing and/or deletingFor Sale posts.

The short answer is that you cannot! The forum will allow you to edit your post for a short while after posting but once this time has passed, posts are permanent.

If you wish to make changes to your listing, mark the items as sold or no longer available, please add a post to your topic. This also has the effect of "bumping" your topic back up in the forum.

The best way to explain the reason for this is that the posts you make in any forum are effectively conversations with other community members. In much the same way as you cannot "undo" a verbal conversation, if you remove a part of a conversation from the forum, the thread potentially makes no sense.

Posts also form a historical reference of what our community has been doing!

    Adam

  2. Adam,

My apologies for having to ask but I am relatively new to Wetpixel and just started using classifieds. I listed a housing some time back and need to find the listing. Is there any way to search for it other than going through the classified listings one by one.

    Thanks,

    Charlie

  3. Hi Charlie

You can always find your own posts by looking in your Profile. They are listed there.

However you can only edit your posts for a short time. If you need to make a change just add another post outlining the change.
