Is this White V Octopus??

    These photos were taken in Lembeh Strait.

     

    The body of this octopus is about 5cm long, arms' length is about 15-20cm. But its body does not have the obvious "white V" mark on it.

  2. In Coral Reef Animals of the Indo-Pacific, it is called Octopus sp.2, which is an undesribed species found in Sulawesi "with a reticulated pattern of lines on the arms and mantle."

  3. Looks like the White-V to me even if you can't see the "V." I have similar shots from Lembeh where the V is visible. It looks as if the octo's chromatophores are hiding it's normal coloration. Whether or not it is the "V" it is likely an undescribed sp.
