  1. What a lens!

Likely to cost around 2500 $US/EUR, higher it will not make sense for a M43 mount.

  2. Impressive, but i fail to see much use for it underwater.

  3. 20-50mm equivalent. Basically a prime zoom lens but no use underwater?

  4. Certainly if you are with Nauticam, that dreaded 85 porthole will be the limiting factor.

You can use the N85 to N120 adapter to use the 180mm dome

  6. In my wet dreams I always imagined a 9/10 mm prime lens.

In the past I used the Oly 12mm F2 on land and it's amazing. Underwater it's too narrow for my taste.

    It seems a behemoth, really.

Of course you can. I have it for use - among others - with my Pana 8-18. The handling is a total mess as Ive described elsewhere if the lens does not fit thru the porthole.

Nauti should give up 85 and move to 100 fo4 MFT as lenses grow ever fatter.

I used the Pana-Leica 12mm Summilux prime with a custom made focus ring in Triton Bay and it worked great. You can immediatly distinguish shots with this lens as compared to the 12-35 - which also a great lens btw but not comparable to the prime).

But yes for things like wrecks it would be too narrow but on reefs it was quite ok.

I would find very hard to use a fixed focal length for video.

I believe I need 12-50 range to cover 90% of reef shots

For wrecks and really close shots of whale sharks 9mm covers most cases in video while for still I use a lot the 7mm focal length I would never take a 7-14 or 8-18 non stabilised lens vs a stabilised zoom lens with a wet lens

I don’t think we are short of options to be honest even if the quality is not like a prime lens you barely notice on a video
