  1. Has anyone used this nauticam macro to wide angle wet lens?? If the sticker price was a little more reasonable i think it would open up a world of possibilities.

  2. There was a report included in the Review of the Nikon Z7 housing in the underwaterphotography magazine, but it was not very detailed beyond what you can already gather from Nauticams own press material. I agree that the price is a bit high. If it was closer to the 1000$/€ region I'd be very interested, but as it stands it costs more than what I paid for my housing + ports. Unfortunately that means that it will take even longer for them to appear used, like WWL1s that appear relative frequently nowadays.

From what I gathered from the Review it is a fantastic piece of equipment though. I wish there was a way to rent and test these things for yourself. Especially when trying combinations that are not in the official port charts. Personally I'm curious how well it would work with the Olympus 12-50mm lens. In theorie it should work (it zooms to 60mm equiv, and has fairly close focus) as well as being a non-tromboning lens.

  3. I would rent one in a heartbeat too,

I’d love to try it out with a variety of zooms but also on the oly 30mm macro lens. One other setback that i see is size and weight. It looks huge to me and i think weighs 4 lbs out of the waer....

If it could replace my Domeport +8-18 it would actually reduce my total weight. Because the dome port is so light under water and it pushes the front of the camera up I made a lead ring that goes around it. Not having to bring that and the other port would probably be lighter or at least equal. For me the biggest obstacle apart from not being able to test is price. I wonder if some of the more budget friendly manufacturers will try to imitate the idea though. I really hope so, because it seems amazing.
