Wide Angle lens, for Canon and Kodak?
<newbie>
Hi,
I've got a Canon A60 for UW use and a Kodak DX6490 for land use.
I'm wondering if through the use of adapters I can buy, for example, a wide-angle lens to use on both cameras?
</newbie>
Cheers!

You can get a the Sea & Sea wide angle and macro lenses to work once you get the lens converter that attaches to the outside of the housing. The Sea & Sea lenses are for only u/w use from what the manuals say.
The lens converter isn't made specifically for the A60, but it's worked with all the housings once the diffuser is taken off of the housing - I started with the A20, used the A40 and now I'm on the A80 and the lens coverter and lenses have worked with each camera and associated housing.

Kim,
Which version of the adapter do you have? I gave my fiance an A80 and the housing for it but I tried a friends adapter from the S50 housing and it didn't fit.

I have the conversion lens adapter for WP-DC200 (part 58050)
It's worked with A20, A40, A80 and checked it with an A75 this afternoon.
S series powershots have a different diameter for the lens port I believe. So far all the A series have been the same diameter I guess.
I have the 16mm wide angle and it works great. Also have the 2T macro lens and I wouldn't bother with it (or the 3T - borrowed one once) if I were you.

Hi Kim,
Thanks! Just making sure she doesn't grab my Subal away! =)

Okay, I understand that adapters are required, but I guess I was asking whether I can use any wide angle lens under water (with the sea and sea adapter) and/or whether I can use a sea and sea adapter underwater...?
From what you're saying the latter is not true, but the former?
If so I can buy a single wide angle lens to use in all situations, with adapters to support.
Cheers.
I don't know the answer to that mulhall. The Sea&Sea lenses click into the adapter so they are held on tightly and won't float away. I doubt a land wide angle lens would fit the Sea&Sea adapter and I doubt they would work correctly underwater as well - water goes between the Canon lens and the Sea&Sea lens - they're made specifically to be changed underwater.
There is another option for WA:
- Inon 105 AD
- Epoque WA (not remember the model)
I can recommended the Inon that I'm very satisfied with it on my S50
