D70, Ikelite housing, Inon strobes - any experience/probs?

  1. D70, Ikelite housing, Inon strobes - any experience/probs?

There seem to be a lot of people with an Ikelite D70 housing, manual controllers, and DS125's.

Anyone tried using the ike housing/d70 with Inon strobes? I know TTL will be an issue and potentially not solvable but also wondering if the functions (ie. on the Z220) will have any chance of working? The inon's won't need the manual controllers because of the inherent settings but will that have any other effects?

Sorry, I don't have any experience with the INON strobes but just to clarify a point here: Only the Ikelite digital strobes can use the manual controllers. It's not just that you don't need them but also that they won't work. The manual controller and sensor are powered by the strobe battery on the DS125 or DS50.

I think you use a seperate sync cord for INON strobes.

  3. Hi,

    I am using D70+Ike Housing + Z220S+D180(Slave) & it works fine.

  4. We thought it more convenient to have power settings at the handle rather than reaching up to the strobe so designed the EV Manual Controller. EV Manual Controller not needed for DS-125 if you want to use manual settings on the strobe. All of our strobes can be attached directly with a sync cord to operate as manual strobes utilizing the power settings on the strobe..............

  5. Thanks all!

SHChae do you have any issues with the difference in power between the 180 and 220?

Also, anyone have success with laser and focus light on the z220 + d70 and ike housing?

  6. I am purposely having small size flash in one side to have little bit of shadow & I like it. Re focus light control, Inon now selling new adapter/controller for it.
