  1. Hi,

nee your help with my dessicion :)

I would like to buy a new lamp. The main use will be macro photography, but I don't want to exclude the possibility of a wide angle shot, so it should be sufficiently dimensioned.
In the first step I would start with one and then buy a second one at a later time.

I have already searched the internet and the Forum. A lot of different types... All look more or less similar - that made the whole thing so hard.

The following types i have in my list:

    Archon WM26 II / ScubaLamp V4K / SolarFlare 5000 / Venom V50 / Weefine 6000 Focus / Jaunt Master / Divepro Vision 170

Which one will be the best :)? Or maybe a completely different one?

  2. Divepro G18 PLUS.

  3. Divepro G18 PLUS.

700$ each lamp is my maximum :)

  4. Consider adding Big Blue to your list. I just purchased 2 CB9000's at $649 each. Variable output, CRI of 85, 9000 lumens. great construction and you get the 1" ball plus a soft goodman handle plus battery and charger. Good value. And they have a number of options.

  5. Macro photography with a video light? Why?

  6. Just offering options - nothing more.

  7. Macro photography with a video light? Why?

oh sorry... i mean Video :)

Definitely avoid any light with low CRI and too wide beam angle

Of those you mention I think the scubalamp and the weefine flare look the best in terms of size and CRI

For macro you dont need 4000 lumens so one important feature is how the lights dim. Divrpro for example have good CRI but the stepless dimming adjustment is useless so make sure you get a light with steps so you know both are at the same power

I have a pair of sola 1200 since years that have undergone battery replacement and the ability to narrow the beam has meant that although I have two divepro g18+ I still use the sola for macro

If you find a light with cri higher than 90 that can be dimmed and also have a narrow beam 20 degrees let me know!

  9. I just checked the specs of weefine flare 3800 and supe 4k

Get the weefine it adjusts in step to 25% which is 950 lumens that in certain situations is even too bright and has high CRI

  10. Having asked light and motion the sola spot flood are CRI 91 and for me they remain the best macro option
