Philippines - Tubbataha, Anilao, whalesharks and more

Hi guys,

I did not introduce myself yet...

I'm living in Manila, Philippines and dive the waters around the country.

I specially like the whalesharks of Donsol, Tubbataha reef and the critter paradise Anilao which is only 2 hours drive from Manila.

Thanks for sharing your gallery. I especially enjoyed the wide-angles from the Philippines. They reminded me me of my trip to Club Ocellaris last year. I can't wait to go back.

Shh!!!!! Don't let the secret out on how good the diving is over there! Can't wait to go back this December! My favorite is Puerto Galera, though Tubatahha is a very close 2nd.

I prefer Anilao over Galera since there is no need of a banca ride to get there... 24h arrival and departure to/from Manila...

Did you go to Verde Island from Galera?

Have you been to Apo Reef already? Many of my Friends say they prefer it over Tubbataha. The group last week saw hammerheads again... I'll try to go get a slot for the trip in 3 weeks... Tubbataha is set for April May and the whalesharks will be back by May / June...

Hi Torben,

Yes, I regularly go to Verde. Great diving if you time the current right. Haven't done Apo Reef, I've been hearing mixed news about it, some saying how fantastic it is and some saying it's nothing great. I can get to Galera from Manila in about the same amount of time, I have a banka pick me up in Batangas, my record is 4:30 departure from Greenhills and in Galera by 8! =)
