West coast of Ireland - 'exploratory' diving 2006
I'm thinking about putting together a few trips to Ireland's west coast - actually to places difficult for divers to usually access. These will be fairly 'exploratory' and will involve the hiring and relocating of a hardboat - not liveaboard as this is not feasible - plus compressor, plus accommodation. My motivation is to look at places on the west coast which are still relatively lightly dived. If anyone is interested can they contact me? Bear in mind that Ireland's west coast is very weather dependant and participants need to be conversant with temperate and tidal conditions (we had a force 8~9 this year, and our basic problem was windage with the hardboat - picking us up was problematic, and waterlogging the RIB - it had to be beached before the motor gave up! - we still were able to dive though). The trip will appeal to photographers and naturalists - there are fascinating creatures to be seen.
