Thailand live aboard recommendations

  1. Thailand live aboard recommendations

I'm planning to go to Thailand some time in 2005. Very open about the dates. This will be about 10 days touring and hopefully one week liveaboard. I'm looking for recommendations for the best time of year to go as well as any recommendations for liveaboard dive boats. Any thoughts and information would me most welcome. Thanks in advance.

    Steve

  2. The best diving is at the Similan Islands and their high season is Nov - April. I've been there at Christmas and again in April. I found the water warmer and the vis better in April. I was on the Viking:

    Highly recommended.

    Hey Steve,

As you can see from my post yesterday, we are using the Anggun this Dec where we have 2 spots open. You would certainly be welcome. I was on it last Xmas and even if you don't join us, I highly recommend the boat. I have been on many liveaboards and this was some of the very best service i have had.

    Good hunting,

    Steve

  4. I would say February is the best time to go.

    My favourite is Panunee

I would recommend a Burma trip rather that Similans.

Viking and Anggun are also good boats.

Also check Aqua-One and Ocean Rover.

Not sure about Viking and Anggun (sure somebody will advise) But Panunee , Aqua-One , and Ocean Rover all specialize in UW Photography.

2 weeks ago I was on Panunee in Lembeh , New Year I will be in Andamans with Aqua-One and Feb. will be in Burma with Panunee.

Feb. is also a good time to be in Thailand. a little cooler and no rain.
