yeah, same in germany, 699 € for a 300D. that's pretty cheap over here.

This one will be traded on ebay years after they stop making it, but under $500 is hard to beat.

Assuming you bought the lenses and got the rebate, you could basically get a Rebel and an Ikelite housing for close to the cost of a 20d body!
