Getting custom Alu pieces made?

7 posts
  1. I’ve designed something on my 3D printer for my underwater camera rig and confirm it’s the right spec for what I need - but plastic isn’t strong enough.

Is there anywhere in the UK or Europe that for that matter, that can print/ cut aluminium and power coat it for reasonable costs for one of small pieces?

  2. I'll let you know shortly

  3. Thanks Davide!!

  5. Would be interested in this information too...

  6. There are hundreds of small machine shops in the UK. Try AN (http://www.an-engineering.co.uk). But don't be surprised if it costs more than you would like.

  7. You might consider an online shop.  You can upload your CAD file and get a quote.  If it’s small, shipping won’t be much, no idea about import taxes though.  This one is in the US, maybe the UK has something similar.
