You can use the hosting site of your choice (for example photos on Flickr and videos on Vimeo) then embed them here using the "link" function in the tool bar

Still images resize them to 1200 px on the long side and save as a medium quality jpeg, you should have no problem getting it to 0.3MB and still plenty large enough for most purposes online. Videos probably best to host externally as suggested.
