Wrong Lens Choice

  1. What do you do when you're diving with a macro lens that captures a fingernail at most and you meet a metre/3ft long monkfish (Lophius piscatorius)?

    You look it in the eye!

    I decided to practice macro for once and dove in with my GH5 and the Panasonic-Leica 45mm.
    In quick succession I encountered a 3-foot nursehound, a monkfish and a school of yellow croakers.

    Ok Scotty, beam me up!

  2. The eyes of fish can be great photo subjects, as you show us.
    Maybe if one carries an Olympus TG4 , 5, or 6 in the dive boat, one can return on the next dive to photo the fish, just a thought..
