Most cameras offer a variety of metering modes, and this can lead to some confusion as to which is the most suitable for gauging the exposure of images. @Alex_Mustard and @adamhanlon discuss the most commonly available options and go on to explain that they both tend to rely on "Eyeball Mark 1" to gauge the exposure of their images.
