writing error on cf card

I am shooting a D100 and seem to have a problem. With a 1-gig card, my card/camera ALWAYS errors out at 160 frames. That means it starts out at 303 (jpg, hi res, fine) and gives me a CHA error (a card mis right error that won't let me take any more pictures)

I put in a backup card and the same thing happens at the 160th frame. It's happened 4 times. Has anyone experienced this, and could it be my camera? Or just two expensive Sandisk cards?

Curious as to what you think.

What do you use to format the cards? If the same thing is happening with different cards, it is most likely the format being used or the camera.
