Inon S-2000 Magnet with Olympus OMD E-M5 Mark III

  1. Hi, Is it necessary to have the magnet in place in INON S2000 to shoot in "MANUAL" mode with an Olympus OMD E-M5 Mark III? Thanks

  2. This is a clear explanation of the S-2000 and its magnet, from Mozaik UW Cameras: https://www.housingcamera.com/blog/guides-tutorials/setting-inon-s-2000-camera

With no magnet, the S2000 preflashes when the camera set on TTL preflashes.

With the magnet in, the S2000 does not preflash, and syncs with camera set on Manual.

I use the EM-1 MkII and trigger with the on board flash set to manual 1/64 power.  When shooting with manual on the strobe, the magnet must be in otherwise it won't sync.

  4. OK. Thanks to both for the answers. I'll leave the magnet on.
