Anybody use the Sony 28-60 mm f4-5.6 behind a dome port ?

  1. Does anybody know if a diopter lens is needed ? Can’t find it on the Ikelite lens chart.

Referring to the Nauticam port charts they recommend the same extensions as the Sony 24-70 f4 lens so that is half of the equation.  As far as the need for a diopter, the min focus distance is 30cm and they are recommending a diopter for the 28-70 f3.5-5.6 which has the same min focus distance.  You may get away without it but may possibly unable to focus as close as you could if you used it.

    Thanks Chris! Is a test in the housing on land valid ? Or do I have to test it in the water ?

    If you are testing for focus you need to do it in water.  You could probably do it in a deep tub and try to focus on a an object maybe 300mm away from the dome surface.
