  1. Correction filter for Ike housing

    Hi there,

Could any one please guide me in finding a correction filter for my Ikelite housing for Olympus C-8080.

I checked so many web sites but no luck

    Best regards,

  2. If you are using strobe, you don't want the filter anyway.

If you are in shallow enough, clear enough water, on a sunny day, you don't want the filter...

Only for a limited depth range, shooting ambient light, will it do you any good.

Hmm, I wonder if I still have one sitting in a drawer somewhere??

    Do you really want one?

  3. Ikelite might make one for you if you have your shop give them a call. I do agree with Don that its use is very limited and photoshop works even better for me.

  4. Alex, in that article, you use filters at shallow depth (second pic, I guess a slight CC?). Is this a contradiction of what Don said? Since you did a custom white balance anyway (and perhaps were shooting raw), do you think you gained anything there? (link 1, link 2)

I guess with consumer housings without a thread the best you can do (according to the article) is try to mount a 4in Lee filter holder externally. Not sure how well this works on most housings, or if it could work with external attachment lenses, like Inon's.

It seems that color correction could be even more useful combined with strobes. Putting the opposite correction on the strobe, so strobe lit areas remain neutral -- you are able to get good color on both foreground and background. This can't be duplicated in Photoshop except by selecting the background and color-correcting it separately.
