I had an issue with one of my Inon Z240 strobes this weekend. It wouldn’t turn on consistently, and then would randomly turn on about 15 mins into a dive. Puzzled, with a bit of investigation I spotted that one of the rubber spring spaces behind the battery contacts in the inner lid was missing..
If you look, you can see the spacer on the right has dropped off somewhere. Any suggestions as to what I could use to replace it with? (I know I can buy a replacement battery cap, but want to see if I can fix it first)

An old inner tube is a good source for rubber sheet. Automobile or bicycle tire shops will give a damaged tube away or exchange it for a 6-pack of beer. The rubber piece you wish to replace might require a double thickness of inner tube glued together with rubber glue, then cut to shape with sharp scissors.
Or you might write Inon, or ask your Inon dealer, and hope they can provide a replacement.
It probably does not need to be rubber, anything of the right thickness that is non conductive would work, you might find rubber mouldings in a hardware store you could adapt. Though I think I'd be more concerned about the contacts themselves, they look like they could use a good clean up. I know you can fiddle around and cobble something up, but I'd suggest a new cap might be a surer thing.
Oh, I’ll give them a clean up at the same time.

there are adhesive pads that cabinet makers use to cover nail holes that should work perfectly.
