I have 3 old Ikelite 100a which I intend to use with a Nikon D-70. I know about the need to send them back to Ikelite for modification but this is not possible for me. If I test them on land and my camera lockup, would there be any permanent damage to my camera? Can I just switch off and on the camera to get rid of the lockup?
I have seen a friend use a single old Ike 100a with his Nikon D-100 and there was no problem, and another chap use a 50 and 200 in a twin strobe setup.
Thx for any feedback.

I used an older Ike SS200 without the mod with the Fuji S2 and it didn't lock up the camera. It depends on the trigger voltage and what the camera will tolerate.
I've been told that it won't damage the camera if it does lock up just turn it off and on. Use at your own risk.
Cheers

I'm still using twin Ike SS200s with the Fuji S2, both manual and TTL work fine. I have never experienced a camera lock-up, just the usual issues with SS200s.
It was named Nikon F5 update because that is when problem first appeared. Camera will not be hurt when it locks up, only your nerves from the aggravation............
