Zanzibar and Seychelles

After the Maldives aren't relevant any more for this year we are going to go to Zanzibar or Seychelles during January 2005.

We think to merge a vacation with diving

Any recommendations? I understood that its suppose to be a good session then.

In Jan in the Seychelles, the liveaboard Explorer doesn't run so Aldabra (which is the best diving around there) is out. Zanzibar is ok,esp around Mnemba. You can hit Arusha and the Serenggeti in Tanzania or Kenya for topside animal watching. I'd do that before you go diving due to the altitude adjustments (better safe than sorry). For better diving, Pemba Islands or evening the national parks in Kenya are good.
