Does anybody have any experience with an underwater metal housing for the Olympus TG camera? I ask as my TG-4 fogs up in a plastic Olympus housing.
Is it true that a small camera, such as the TG-4, does not fog in a metal housing? Thanks for your words of wisdom.

The secret to dealing with fogging in a plastic housing is to close it in a low humidity environment. On my recent dive trip a guy was snorkelling with his camera in a plastic housing and complaining about fogging. I told him to open/close his housing in air-conditioning and that was an instant fix.
The other thing to be aware of is that when you open the housing you'll often get a few water droplets on the o-ring - if a small amount of that water is pushed into the housing when you close the housing and you take it outside and the housing warms up or worse you leave it in the sun that water vapourises and fogs you up when the port cools off in the water. So the second secret is to wipe or blow off any water drops from the o-ring and sealing surfaces. This I think is where the myth comes from that leaving your housing in the sun causes fogging. Fogging is caused by the port glass temperature dropping below the dew point temperature of the humid air in the housing - end of story. If you don't trap water inside it can't fog - and a single drop of liquid water inside a housing will be enough!
The metal housings are often better as the water condenses on the metal surface of the housing first as it cools off faster, but if there's enough water inside it too will fog eventually.
