Selling my Nauticam WACP-1 and Canon EF-S 18-55mm setup, I bought used from a fellow Aussie shooter and used for the past two years in shark cages, which is where this sorry tale begins.
On the last shark shoot in December in rough weather I knocked it into the cage resulting in a small 2mm scratch on the dome, which does show as a blemish in the image.
Noticeable on the right side of screen as a light smudge at 18mm to 35mm & f5.6 to f8, then disappears from about 40mm as the lens zooms past the scratch.
At smaller apertures it’s a very noticeable scratch from 18mm to 40mm, the screenshots of the seals was f18 to f22. Again, the lens zooms past the scratch from about 40mm.
(The red ‘O’ is the limit of my photoshop skills to show where the scratch is, obviously isn't in the footage.)
Nauticam have quoted AUD $1300 and 6 weeks to replace the dome, hence the lower price. Email quote attached, I blacked out the local distributor as it was from his personal email.
Approx. AUD $9000 new, I’d be asking AUD $6000 without the scratch, so minus the $1300 and hassle to fix I’m asking AUD $4000 or USD $2750 at the current conversion.
