Scuba Diving In Port Hardy British Columbia _ Amazing Cold Water Diving!

9 posts
  1. My wife, several friends, and I spent 4 days at the beginning of May scuba diving in Port Hardy on the northern tip of Vancouver Island, British Columbia.  These high current, nutrient rich waters are some of the best cold water diving North America has to offer.  The biodiversity, bright colors, and amount of marine life is amazing.  We did a total of 10 dives over 4 days with sites like Gooseneck Point, World Famous Browning Wall, 7 Tree Island, Nudi Beach, Tim's Wall, Carl's Corner, Barry Islet, and Rock Of Life.  My personal favorites were Barry Islet and Rock Of Life.

  2. Awesome video! I was up there the same week at God's Pocket.

Thanks!  It certainly is an amazing place to dive!  We ran into a bunch of other divers on Browning Wall on day 2, I think it was the Gods Pocket boat.

  4. Beautiful video and excellent music choice!

At 2:55, I see a diver with no gloves. Is the water that warm?

Thank you!  She has gloves on, one is pink and the other is turned inside out, the water is definitely not that warm, about 8 degrees Celsius or 46 degrees Fahrenheit.  That said, there are some crazy divers up here that don't wear gloves!

I've been up there dozens of times, so I think they are all great. We did one site out of Browning pass called ToyBoy which was really unique. Very colorful, but different from the others. Walls of golden/yellow tunicates that just glowed.  Really lovely.

Cool!  This was only my second time up there.  I only started diving a 2 years ago...  My two favorites were Barry Islet and Rock of Life, both amazing sites with a lot of different eye candy.
