cold water oly
I have an Olympus PT-016 and was thinking of taking it on an ice dive. Would this be ok to take it, or would the seals freeze up and leak.
Thank you
Jeremy

I've seen them in 40F water and all was OK. I'd check with Oly and see if they have a temp range.
Why/how would the seal freeze? The water you're diving in isn't frozen.
I've used my PT-020 in "cold" water several times with no problems.

i have dived in water that should have been frozen but wasn't because it had enough movement in it to not be frozen. But I never took a camera in there, but flashlights don't leak in cold water so why would a camera ?
I have used an oly 5050 with pt015 in 0 degree celcius water with no problems at all. Here in Ontario Canada the water is very clear when that cold.
Load your camera with silica gel hours before you dive so the dessicant has a chance to absorb all humidity before you expose the setup to cold air or water. Then your lens won't fog up.
