  1. Underwater Photos - Aquatica Kodak ProSLRn

After literally months of waiting, I finally got to take the Kodak diving. Sarah and I went to the Coronados and got to photograph the sea lions, etc. The weather was getting bad and conditions were rough, but we just made it in time. These are California conditions, with lots of suspended particulate etc, so don't mistake that for digital noise. There was still some digital noise though, etc. I developed the RAW files to the best of my ability to get the most out of each file. All questions and comments welcome:

The 17-35 was sharp corner to corner even at 17mm and I was very happy with the lens:

Shooting the 105 was exteremely difficult in the surge. The 105 on a FF camera will let you shoot bigger fish:

Full review and 100% crops coming later.

  3. Well, it's about time. Am I to take it that the canonical musing will be quieted again ?

  4. No

  5. Sea lion looks great. Looks like he was moving fast. Did you pre-set to make your system a point and shoot? Manual focus, etc?

  6. Hi Joe,

Nope, I set it at 1/125th and either f6.7 or f8 depending, strobes on full, and camera on AF-S with the 17-35. It didn't have much of a problem despite the HIGH speed of the sea lions. Behind the dome, it had no problem. I was amazed to see motion blur, even at 1/125th.

    Cheers

    James

  7. Congratulations on finally getting it wet. I do like the sea lion photo. A little blur can be nice if it makes you aware of motion.
