Fisheye shooters with large dome … help needed.
I have NikonD850 in Sea&Sea housing and for last years my default lens is Nikon fisheye 8-15mm. I use with it Zen 230 dome.
Now, on my last trip, for the unknown reason I looked into how lens alignement looks on another camera setup that was Canon 1 in shiny Seacam with also large dome and I noticed that there lens is on the edge of dome while in my case it sticks 1-2 cm into the dome.
Sea&Sea lens/port chart is not that good but I also have 3rd party dome so not sure what is the “ideal” setup from “where should lens be in dome” perspective?
Attached images show my current setup where I have 2cm extension ring between housing and port. I am contemplating buying 3cm extension but dont want to waste money if not needed.
I juat want the best image quality out of the setup I have.
So, if anyone else (is shooting nikon, not sure if relevenat) has fisheye and using large dome, what is your lens alignement?
