Smallest camera with RAW

  1. Smallest camera with RAW

Which is the smallest (not cheapest) camera with good RAW capabillities?

Both my S40 and C-5060 can handle RAW, but not fast enough. The Canon is a much older camera, but it's actually faster than the Olympus.

Perhaps the S70 is a good alternative.

  2. In terms of cycle time, non of them come up to the speed of canon Raw.

The best are the G6 and pro1. They both can shoot 4 frames, in raw, at about 2 seconds per cycle, then slow down to 12 seconds per shot, which is the CF write speed.

The G6 has poor autofocus in low light. The pro1 quite a lot better. The sony's blow them away, in terms of autofoucs.

The sony V3 also has raw, but no buffer, so it is always about 12 seconds per raw cycle.

I haven't studied the smaller canons, which would be what you need to look at. The olys and nikons all pale, in terms of raw cycle time, compared to the canons.

  3. Not sure how it stacks up but the Fuji F910 does 12MB RAW files in 5 secs. Very small camera.

  4. Thanks...

I'm begiining to think the Canon S70 is for me.

Olympus 7070: Does anyone know what "TruePic TURBO" would mean in terms of RAW performance (if anything)?
