Well, they aren't under the water, but here is a penguin picture i took after a cleaning dive at the aquarium. and yes, it was cold. I live in texas and was diving in 54 degree water, burrrrr. All of the pics can be seen by clicking here.

  2. Lucky.

  3. The penguins are cute. Never got a close look at their feet before, they're funny looking. It must be pretty cool to dive with the penguins, do they buzz around and come up to see what you're doing?

BTW...We (Northern California divers) consider 54 degree water to be on the warm side. Was diving Point Lobos last weekend and the temp was 49-50 Oceanic degrees. That's a pretty average temp around here.

  4. Very nice picture!

Where I live the max we got in summer time is around 54°F!

Right now I dive in 38°F and air temp below 36 not using a dry suit. Well Ialmost dive only in lakes and rivers when I'm not going somewhere traveling.

I made my bones harded on this...

I knew there had to be an explanation for it....

Diving the arctic and subarctic fjords of Norway I can relate. Seawater gets allmost 2 degrees below freezing in winter. Just push away the platelet ice and get in! Warning; Dont spit in your mask - it will produce some very hard to see throug isicles...

That is even worser... Well I wouldn't dive with a semi-dry there of course... It would be way too insane...

Are you sure that you are not one of the penguins in the first picture? :(
