The EOS-1Ds features the first ever full frame 35mm CMOS sensor with 11.1 million effective pixels. The EOS-1Ds capture astounding detail & colour, almost doubling the resolution ordinarily considered state of the art for a digital SLR camera in the world today.
www.steves-digicams.com has a little blurb about this as well. Seems as if Canon Europe screwed up and prematurely posted the news on their web page!

Screw up my rear! They leaked that on purpose - knowing what a rumor mill the internet is.
Now it's up on half the digital photo websites in the world - free advertising for Canon.
Cheers
James
Wow James, I think you should see your proctologist about that (screw up your . . .)
Anyway, the last time Canon Europe did this, they had an "announcement" put there "by mistake" announcing two new DO (diffractive optics) lenses. Neither has been introduced since, so maybe it's all a big joke!
There's also mention that Olympus will be releasing a DSLR with interchangeable lenses. Check out dp-now.com for more info.
