Non digital strones with sync connected housings?

Quick question

has anyone used a NON digital strobe connected via a sync cable ( nikonos, Sea& Sea, etc ) with a housed (Oly, sony, etc. ) My question is does the camera send the Pre flashes through the external flash port or "hopefully" just send a single primary signal to the external strobe. TTL is not an issue of course

Hi Chris,

I've used an SB102 with a Nikon Coolpix and it didn't try to fire the pre-flash, just the main flash. Not sure about how the Olys work though.

Oh, and if you come to Houston again w/o calling me, I'm gonna kick your a$$!!!!

I think the camera in question is an Oly.

also I will look you up next time as I will be going back. Now back on Guam and working at Micronesian Divers inbetween photo gigs
