  1. Just had the single most amazing dive of my life yesterday! Even though i am not all that old, i have had the opportunity to visit some of the worlds most amazing dive spots in a relatively short time.

However, what i saw yesterday blew everything else out of the water. Imagine 30 mantas cavorting, tumbling, rolling, and shagging above your head for 10 minutes or so. Absolutely freakin unbelievable!

I had the video and the my Nik V with me. 15mm not nearly wide enough for that and certainly not the WA on the video. However, took 36 shots faster than i have ever done before!

Took the D70 and 12-24 today and of course not the same.

Here are some grainy video grabs to look at. Will have to wait for a few months to develop the film...

  5. Very nice orgy and lucky indeed! Mill channel?

  6. Wow! I guess the only consolation on the setup is that if you HAD had the 12-24, the Mantas would have been there the day before!

  7. And I was in a mucky dive pool shooting a china fish...

What a sight, Mike. This Yap place is rapidly rising up my list of priorities.

  8. One word (but long one): Woooooooooooooow

  9. Yep, its pretty damn cool alright. Just have to find an excuse to go to Palau so i can develop that film...

  10. <jealousy> I think that would rank highly on anyone's top dive list! Awesome! Can't wait to see the pics! </jealousy>

  11. That's the payoff for all the crummy dives you have done over the years. Congrats on what we all aspire to see some day.
